Pete walked into a neighborhood bar in the West Village on a quiet Sunday afternoon in January to watch the NFL playoffs. As he entered, he noticed Alex sitting with some friends and decided that he'd be at Bayard's for the rest of the afternoon.

After Tom Brady and the Buccaneers lost an exciting game to the Rams, Pete saw his chance slipping away as Alex was settling her bill. Using a trip to the Men's room as a decoy, he chose a path to bump into her and found the words to ask if he could take her out some time. Despite a missed first phone call and a few lingering text messages, Alex eventually agreed to meet Pete for a first date.

That day marked the beginning of a fun and eventful three years, filled with memorable experiences as they got to know each other in New York, Newport, Chicago, and on many global adventures.
